Self Care in Australia

Countries need to institutionalize self-care by incorporating it into the building blocks of public policy, putting ‘health in all policies’. While some promising self-care policy programs have been implemented, they have been rather too few and too isolated. One-off initiatives are not enough to create the fundamental shifts in practice that are required. Working with the Australian Self-Care Alliance, and with input from ISF, the subject of building self-care into government policy is the subject of a new study by the Australian Health Policy Collaboration, Victoria University. The report, published in February 2018, is entitled “The State of Self-Care in Australia.
